British Concordance International School seeks an experienced and dynamic Librarian/Reading Specialist to work across our primary and secondary campus libraries. A successful candidate will be responsible for managing library resources, promoting literacy, and supporting the academic curriculum while fostering a love of reading among students of all ages.
Working Conditions
Split schedule between primary and secondary campus libraries
Some evening and weekend hours may be required for special events

Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Education, or related field
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent international certification preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience
Demonstrated expertise in reading instruction and literacy development
Experience working with diverse age groups (primary through secondary)
Strong knowledge of children's and young adult literature
Proficiency in library management systems and educational technology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to engage and inspire students of varying ages and reading abilities
Strong organisational and administrative capabilities
Creative approach to literacy promotion and library programming
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with teaching staff

Responsibilities
Manage and develop library collections across both primary and secondary campuses
Create and implement reading programmes to promote literacy and develop reading skills
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum planning
Provide reading support and intervention strategies for students at all levels
Organise author visits, book fairs, and literacy events throughout the academic year
Train students and staff in information literacy and research skills
Maintain an organised and welcoming library environment
Track and manage library inventory and budget
Stay current with educational literature, teaching methods, and library management practices
