We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Teacher of Economics and Business Studies to join our Senior School team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. This role requires a deep understanding of the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum, a commitment to active learning strategies, and the ability to prepare students for higher education pathways.
Teaching Load:20–24 periods per week (inclusive of IGCSE independent study supervision)

Qualifications & Experience
A relevant undergraduate degree in Economics, Business, or a closely related field.
A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching license).
Proven experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Economics and Business Studies within an international school environment.
A strong understanding of current pedagogical research, active learning frameworks, and effective classroom management.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively support English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners in accessing complex subject terminology.
Desirable Attributes
Experience or willingness to guide students through the EPQ research and writing process.
Familiarity with incorporating digital productivity and educational tools into classroom practice.
A collaborative mindset with a track record of contributing to department-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
● Plan and deliver high-quality Economics and Business Studies lessons for KS4 and KS5 within a teaching load of 20 to 24 periods per week. This allocation includes the supervision of scheduled independent study / self-study sessions for IGCSE students.
● Teach CAIE IGCSE Economics (0455), Business Studies (0450), and Enterprise (0454), as well as CAIE A-Level Economics and Business.
● Adapt teaching methodologies to support diverse learners, integrating active learning strategies and critical thinking into daily instruction.
● Potentially support the delivery of new vocational pathways (such as the V-Level) and mentor students undertaking an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Curriculum & Assessment
● Collaborate with the department to design, review, and refine curriculum sequencing and schemes of work.
● Design formative and summative assessments aligned with CAIE examination standards.
● Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and target-setting.
● Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and attainment, participating in the school's quality assurance and observation frameworks.
Pastoral & Wider School Life
● Act as a Form Tutor, taking responsibility for the pastoral care, well-being, and academic monitoring of a designated group of students.
● Contribute to the school’s co-curricular program and participate in secondary assemblies.
● Engage proactively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, attending scheduled parent-teacher consultations.
● Adhere strictly to all school policies, particularly those concerning child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety protocols.
