About the Role
The DHoS plays a pivotal role in leading the development and growth of the school, leading the pastoral care of students and teachers, and leading the school in technology and innovation. Work closely with, and deputise for, the Head of School to create a vibrant and nurturing learning environment that fosters the growth and development of all students.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience:
● Master's degree in education, leadership, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in an international primary school setting.
● Proven experience in school administration and leadership.
● Strong understanding of international and British curriculum frameworks and
assessment methods.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
● Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style.
● Fluency in English and an additional language is preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
● Student achievement: Improvement in quality of student achievements, academic grades, and other measures of student learning.
● Teacher effectiveness: Growth in teacher performance evaluations and student feedback
on teaching quality.
● Parent satisfaction: Positive feedback from parents on school communication, student
support, and overall school experience.
● Operational efficiency: Effective event planning, timely completion of projects, and smooth day-to-day operations.
● Community engagement: Increased participation in school events, positive media
coverage, and strong relationships with community partners.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
● Collaborate with the Head of School to develop and implement a rigorous and innovative academic programme aligned with the UK National Standards and 'Future Skills Education.'
● Oversee department heads in curriculum development, assessment practices, and instructional strategies to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
● Monitor student achievement data and implement targeted interventions to support student progress and well-being.
● Lead and mentor faculty, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
● Evaluate teacher performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance instructional effectiveness.
Teaching and Learning:
● Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers to promote continuous improvement.
● Provide support to teachers with behavioural management issues in conjunction with the student support team
● Champion innovative teaching practices and technology integration for enhanced learning experiences.
● Teach some core and key technology subjects.
Student Welfare and Care:
● Support the admissions team and counsel new families
● Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
● Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that celebrates diversity and respects individual needs.
● Oversee student conduct and disciplinary procedures, providing support and guidance to students and parents.
● Support the Student Support Coordinator in her collaboration with external stakeholders, such as counsellors and specialists, to address student needs.
Communication and Collaboration:
● Maintain effective communication with the teachers, parents, and the broader school
community.
● Facilitate meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.
● Build strong relationships with parents and external partners to support the school's mission.
Additional duties:
● Develop digital literacy curriculum for primary school
● Organise and oversee the summer camp (summer term) with preparation Jan-June
● Coordinate all school calendar events
● Develop a performing and visual arts academy (12 months programme)
● Provide new student orientation programme (once a term)
● Support teachers to develop and monitor weekly update of class websites/Google classrooms.
