Children joining BCIS in Primary continue on the same campus into Cambridge IGCSE, and on into A Level. Sixth Form facilities are already built and ready on our Chiang Mai campus as each year group grows into them, so families don't need to plan for a change of school as their child moves into secondary education.

What ages does Primary cover at BCIS?
Primary covers ages 5 to 11, divided into Key Stage 1 for ages 5 to 7 and Key Stage 2 for ages 7 to 11.
What curriculum does Primary follow?
Primary follows the Cambridge Pathway, covering core subjects alongside foundation subjects. It builds on the British EYFS framework children complete in Early Years.
How do British year groups compare to American grades?
British year groups run roughly one year ahead of American grades, so Year 2 is broadly equivalent to Grade 1 and Year 6 to Grade 5. Age is the more reliable guide: Primary at BCIS covers ages 5 to 11, which an American system would call Kindergarten through Grade 5. Entry is decided by age and assessment, not by a direct year-to-grade conversion.
What happens after Primary?
Students continue into Secondary at age 11, starting Year 7 and Key Stage 3 on the same campus.
