What ages does Secondary cover at BCIS?
Secondary covers ages 11 to 18: Key Stage 3 for ages 11 to 14, Key Stage 4 for ages 14 to 16, and Sixth Form for ages 16 to 18.
What qualifications do students take?
Students work towards Cambridge IGCSEs, sat in Year 11. These are internationally recognised qualifications accepted by universities and schools worldwide.
How does Secondary compare to American middle and high school?
Secondary at BCIS spans ages 11 to 18, covering what an American system calls middle school and high school. Year 7 is broadly equivalent to Grade 6, and Year 11 — when students sit IGCSEs — to Grade 10. Sixth Form, Years 12 and 13, corresponds to the final two years of American high school. Entry is decided by age and assessment rather than a direct conversion.
What comes after IGCSE?
Students can continue at BCIS into Sixth Form, Years 12 and 13, to study Cambridge A Levels — qualifications accepted by leading universities in Thailand and internationally.
